About Us
After 15 years working as a teacher in Gloucestershire, Roger established OSW Solutions in 2007 with the primary aim of carefully restoring original sash windows. In 2011 he formed an enduring partnership with Gary, who had spent his entire adult life since qualifying as a carpenter/joiner, working for the market-leading sash window restoration company, and the business soon began to really thrive. Since then we have grown organically to the point where we now have 4 full-time employees (Tom, Nigel, Lewis and Luke) who work alongside us and completely share our standards and values.
The combined experience of our team working specifically with sash windows is fast-approaching 100 years and we believe that our craftsmanship and consistency is second to none. We have also widened our range of services as times and priorities have changed. Therefore, from repair & restoration to replacement & double glazing, from draught-proofing to secondary glazing and even a full paint finishing service , we now offer all of the options you might be considering, to achieve the best outcome for each of your windows. Enabling them to remain efficient, beautiful and maintainable for many years to come.
Sash window repairs and restoration
Every sash window is unique and it’s also valuable, which means that deciding upon the best solution requires a considered and informed approach. That’s why we offer a friendly and personal service to ensure all customers are carefully informed of the choices and receive the best advice before making a decision.
Whether it’s draughts and rattles, sashes running poorly or not at all, rotting timbers, glazing problems or just too much noise ingress … we have solutions that can raise efficiency and lower heat loss whilst restoring elegance. Our understanding of both traditional and modern materials enables us to apply the best methodologies on every project, with the confidence to back up our work with long term, ‘no quibble‘ guarantees.
We’ll generally aim to retain as much of the original joinery as possible. Splicing and replacing with rot-resistant, stabilised timber reduces the cost of replacement and enables a strong, movement-free bond on every repair. These priorities align very closely with those of English Heritage and therefore local Conservation Officers too. However, when full replacement is the right choice, we’re FENSA approved to manufacture and self-certify replica windows for you to meet all current Building regulations.
Original Sash Window Solutions Ltd is a ‘Vetted and Approved by Trading Standards’ member of their ‘Buy With Confidence’ Scheme and also a qualified full-member of the Consumer Protection Association’s ‘Approved Craftsmen’ Scheme.
